Lip, Sip, Suck Tequila with model Kendall Jenner

Raise your shot glass to another celebrity endorsement; yep, Kendall Jenner’s 818 Tequila is set to launch in Australia, with the entrepreneur and model lifting our spirits all in the name of Blanco, Reposado and Anejo.

This product walked off the shelves in the USA and UK markets, with a similar wipe-out expected here.

We’re loving the serious sustainability practice that drives this drop to the top of bar shelf – with a distillery run on biomass and solar power to help reduce carbon emissions, bottles made from 100% recycled glass and paper products certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. The brand also joined the B Corporation community in March 2023, which is a huge win for the environment.

“We are thrilled to be launching 818 Tequila in Australia and will find success here as it has all over the world,” said founder Kendall Jenner.

“818 is all about a sense of community and bringing people together, and we think our ethos aligns perfectly with the Australian consumer.”

So, let’s talk tequila? Here’s what you need to know.

  • 818 Tequila Blanco is an ultra-smooth blend with a citrus finish [and notes of key lime pie and toasted coconut] thanks to resting in French oak barrels for three mighty weeks of soaking it up.
  • 818 Tequila Reposadois more caramel in texture, sturdier notes of cooked agave and heading toward pecan pie territory with ageing cranked to three months.
  • 818 Tequila Añejo is loaded with purposeful complexity – think rich flavours of orange peel, chocolate, and toffee from ageing for over a year in oak barrels.

There’s also the Eight Reserve– aged up to eight years in French and American barrels and bottled in hand-crafted ceramic decanters.

Jenner is the second youngest of Kris Jenner’s children and is firmly focused on brand’s rise with a strong social media push to her 294 million followers.

“We want to keep as classic a profile as possible, this was very important for our team,” said Jenner.

818’s Director of Tequila Operations David Yan Gonzalez said; “We’re celebrating the tradition of this centuries old industry and doing something really special for the heritage of Mexico. Tequila is such a huge part of our festivities and sharing our better moments as people, as family, as friends. 818 now offers the world that.”
