MY CITY
The one thing I love most about Melbourne is the alleyways. Just taking a walk around the city on a sunny 12-degree day could lead you to discover quaint cafes and restaurants that are hidden and dotted all around the city.
FAVOURITE FOOD MEMORY
The mushroom noodles and fruit tartins from Nick Stanton’s Ramblr.
FAVOURITE BAR
The newly opened Inuman by the team from Askal. I love trying innovative cocktails that highlight familiar flavours of home, and the Tito Ray is an interesting one; Durian, calamansi and rum? Yum.
DRINK THAT DESCRIBES YOU
Hugo Spritz. Light, refreshing and not that easy to find
BEST HANGOVER CURE
Controversial, but it would be Macca’s chicken McNuggets
BEST INTERSTATE BAR
Malt & Juniper in Adelaide. Gorgeous interior with a great selection of cocktails. My go to here would be a classic gin and tonic.
TIP FOR AN OVERSEAS BAR
On my last trip back to Singapore, my best friend Vanessa brought me to a bar along Amoy Street called Fura. They do in-house fermentation and produce fruit wines that are incredibly delicious. The must try is the Strawberry Generation.
FAVOURITE WINE
I love a glass of Gewürztraminer. I lean towards sweeter wines, and this variety is my favourite.
FAVOURITE WINERY
My favourite winery is Hubert Estate. A beautiful property that hosts a great restaurant. Great food, and vibe. Also a plus is that it’s dog friendly.
NEXT DESTINATION
It would probably be another trip back to Singapore. I am definitely missing the food, and need my fix of local delights.
