The queen of cabaret punk Bernie Dieter returns with a new show Club Kabarett at the Meat Market in North Melbourne. Her gin-soaked Haus band deliver the soundtrack in what promises to be a debauched night of breathtaking circus, gender-bending aerial and fire-breathing sideshow at its most provocative.

FAVOURITE FOOD MEMORY
I recently had a chocolate shoe (yes you read that right!) at the cabaret bar that I designed together with Tom from Velvick ltd; ‘Piper’s Playhouse’ at Crown Melbourne. It was ridiculously good.
FAVOURITE BAR
Bobbie Peels in North Melbourne. It’s conveniently located right next to the show venue so we spend a lot of time here. It’s a classic Melbourne pub, fireplace for those chilly nights and an excellent selection of drinks, also gorgeous staff that make you feel right at home.
BEST HANGOVER CURE
Ideally jumping naked into an icy fjord, but failing that a strong Bloody Mary with a giant gherkin garnish. Maybe two gherkins.
BEST INTERSTATE BAR
My favourite interstate bar is Frisk Small Bar in Perth. John who is the owner and cocktail genius makes my favourite gin martinis and also cooks me German Sausages when I visit him! Martinis and Bratwurst is the best combo.
FAVOURITE WINE
I love Boomtown’s wines- they are based in Castlemaine and everything they make is delicious. Specifically, the Riesling (I’ve affectionately nicknamed it the ‘big daddy riesling’) is exceptional.
FAVOURITE WINERY
Running Horse Wines in the Hunter Valley- it was a beautiful place and the tasting really was more of a ‘drink a long with Dave’ who was the Irish Jockey who runs the place. He was hilarious and we had a lock in til the early hours.
NEXT DESTINATION
Brazil, next stop on the Club Kabarett tour.
DINNER PARTY WITH 3 FAMOUS PEOPLE -WHO WOULD YOU INVITE
Taylor Mac, Marina Abramović and David Bowie. It would be a weird and wonderful night and in my dreams it would end in either some kind of witchy moon ceremony or us all making some incredible music.
