At The Bar with Comedian Mitch Dale

Australian comedian Mitch Dale makes his Melbourne International Comedy Festival debut with a new show Um…What Else? He’s loaded with hilarious one-liners; which many of his million viewers on social media can attest.  He spoke to The Write Drop for our At The Bar series.

MY CITY

Brisbane. It has long had a reputation for being a “big country town” but the beauty lies in the city maintaining that country town friendliness and familiarity while developing a truly world class dining and entertainment scene. I love being able to choose between a high end night out or a classic at the local pub and not be disappointed with either.

FAVOURITE FOOD MEMORY

My first 3 Michelin star meal at Le Bernardin in New York. The signature dish of tuna and foie gras on a slice of baguette is a thing of beauty.

FAVOURITE BAR

The Gresham. Love an amaretto sour there.

DRINK THAT DESCRIBES YOU

A whiskey sour, not everybody is going to love it, but the combination of smoke, sweet, and sour keeps people intrigued.

BEST HANGOVER CURE

Cold pizza or cold fried chicken, arguably better than when they’re hot.

BEST INTERSTATE BAR

The Lord Nelson in Sydney.

OVERSEAS BAR

Nubeluz at The Ritz Carlton NYC. You don’t need to be a guest and the views are unbelievable!

FAVOURITE WINE

A bit of a guilty pleasure, but I love Black Noble from De Bortoli, everyone who has tried it has loved it.

FAVOURITE WINERY

Paulett Wines in the Clare Valley, incredible wines and staff.

NEXT DESTINATION

I’m thinking Singapore! Need to go and eat till I can’t move at the hawker stalls.
